Actions Anglers can Take to Halt Invasive Species

Safeguarding Canada’s natural assets from the impacts of invasive species begins with preventing their introduction. But it doesn’t end there. According to Jenna White, program development coordinator for the Invasive Species Centre, anglers can also play a role in preventing the spread of invasives by reporting when an invasive has been captured or observed, by monitoring invasives already present, by participating or leading initiatives to remove invasives, by supporting invasive species research, and by providing input to officials responsible for invasive species policy and regulations. And let’s not forget education and awareness. Jenna is our guest on The Blue Fish Radio Show available as a podcast.
